Ines Triay, Ph.D.

Dr. Inés Triay leads the Center in solving real-world problems in partnership with government and private industry. She joined FIU in 2012 after a distinguished career as scientist and Assistant Secretary for the Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management where she led the largest, most diverse, and most technically complex environmental cleanup program in the world with an annual budget of $6 billion, a workforce of 30,000, and originally involving more than 2 million acres at 107 sites located in 35 states. She earned her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Miami (UM). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from UM (Magna Cum Laude).
